The Abraham Lincoln Association has joined America250 as an official Supporting Partner, marking a significant milestone as the nation prepares to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

America250 is the official nonprofit organization supporting the United States Semiquincentennial Commission, a congressional body charged with coordinating the nation’s commemoration of its founding. The partnership unites two organizations with a shared commitment to the American idea and to the man who most powerfully renewed it.

“Lincoln believed the Declaration of Independence was the nation’s founding promise,” said ALA President Joshua Claybourn. “The semiquincentennial gives us a rare opportunity to reconnect Americans with that promise. We are proud to stand alongside America250 in this effort.”

Through the partnership, the ALA will promote America250 programs and events across its networks, encourage public participation in the national commemoration, and collaborate on programming that connects Lincoln’s legacy to the founding ideals at the heart of the celebration. America250 will recognize the ALA as a Supporting Partner on its website and in its materials.

The Declaration of Independence turns 250 on July 4, 2026. The ALA, founded in Springfield in 1908, has spent more than a century advancing scholarship, public education, and appreciation of Lincoln’s life and legacy. This partnership extends that mission to the nation’s most consequential anniversary in a generation.
